5 sustainable travel packing hacks for your next adventure
The travel sector accounts for 8% of all global carbon emissions and its set to grow 4% more each year. For eco-conscious globetrotters this means that finding the right balance between practicing sustainability and seeing the world can be especially challenging. That’s why we’ve put together these tips to help you travel smart and sustainably.
1. Twin Kits
Bring along two dopp kits - one for toiletries and another for medicine and other first aid essentials. To tell them apart, simply tie a ribbon around the zipper. This way you’ll never have to fumble around while looking for band-aids, pills or an inhaler, or to make things even more simple just pick up our dopp kit in 2 different colors - like Olive Green and Coffee Brown. Shop the dopp kit selection. Just remember to pack your medicine kit somewhere easy to access!
2. Double Duty
Choosing products that are multi-purpose are good for the environment and can help you save space too! Aside from typical 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioners, there are lots of products that can go the distance with a little creativity. We love using Kosas’ blush as a natural glowy eyeshadow too!
3. Super Solids
If you’re travelling with just a carry-on, sticking to just 100ml of product can be tricky. Try looking for non-liquid eco-friendly alternatives to your favourite products. Lush has a great range of solid shampoo bars that come in a variety of colours and scents. The aluminium tin also means that you can take it with you where ever you go!
4. Go Digital
Go paperless and have your tickets, accommodation and activity information sent to your phone instead. To stay organised, use an app like TripIt to easily access your travel itinerary. It’s so simple - all you need to do is forward emails about the trip on and it’ll automatically update within the app! Don’t forget to also keep a digital copy of important documents like your driver’s license or passport on your phone as well as any prescriptions you might have.
5. The Musts
We’re all about travelling lighter, but there are two eco must haves for every trip: a reusable bag and a reusable water bottle. If you don’t already have a reusable bag, choose one that’s light and foldable. LOQI bags hold up to 10kg and can be folded down
